Software Development Engineer - 6 months initial contract - Eastleigh - Broadcast/Telecoms/Networks Our client is currently looking for a Software Development Engineer to join their team based in Eastleigh for an initial duration of 6 months. This client develops Digital TV software solutions and undertakes integration of this Set Top Box software with different hardware platforms for multiple customers. The software is deployed with satellite, cable and IP network operators around the world. Software components are developed and integrated in the UK, India and France. Central to the effective functioning of the division is the Continuous Integration (CI) and Configuration Management (CM) systems. CI is a large distributed Linux server based system linked to over 500 STBs and runs 70,000 tests a week. The CM team is responsible for the assessment, rollout and maintenance of version control systems. This team supports over 300 engineers. Team Description This role is suitable for a self motivated team player who wishes to work in a highly dynamic team responsible for the ongoing operational effectiveness and availability of our systems. Role ℜsponsibilities * Provide a stable, reliable and highly available Continuous Integration system including automated building and testing of the Set Top Box software. * Ensure a stable, reliable and highly available Configuration Management system including support and guidance to the development community. * Working closely with the development feature teams, drive problem resolution and improve the infrastructure, identifying and implementing fixes to both code and design.
