Introduction Our Legal / GRC Department is seeking a confident and proactive Compliance Officer / In-house lawyer to join its dedicated, close knit team. This engaging role offers responsibility and variety within a department that ensures the company’s legal compliance requirements are met efficiently and effectively. What can you expect? •Responsibility for supporting the implementation and ongoing development of the company’s Compliance Management System •Drafting company procedures and providing relevant training to our staff to comply with existing and upcoming requirements under national and EU law (except tax and employment law) •Liaising with our UK and International Head Office as well as external legal advisers •Providing everyday ad-hoc UK legal advice on a wide variety of queries from the Sales Regions and UK and International Head Office departments •Supporting contract negotiations and drawing up standard and specific contracts between the Company and a wide range of national and international business partners •Communication with different regulators, such as the CMA, GCA etc. •A direct reporting line to the Compliance Director What are we looking for? •An LL.B. in English law with minimum 2:1 degree is essential •1-2 years of prior experience in an in-house legal position and affinity with contract law is preferred •Excellent legal literacy and numerical skills •Ability to combine a good eye for legal detail with big picture commercial considerations •An excellent communicator and multi-tasker with exceptional organisational abilities •Ability to work independently, managing conflicting priorities with ease and efficiency •Fluency in German, both written and spoken, is strongly preferred •Motivated and proactive, with an eagerness to learn and develop What will we offer you? •£32,000 - £42,000 per annum (subject to experience) •An additional 10% of your annual salary as a non-contractual London Weighting benefit •30 – 35 days holiday per annum (including Bank Holidays) (subject to experience) •A contributory pension scheme •10% discount on all Lidl products, in all stores throughout the UK •Access to corporate discounts on a range of products and services (including holidays, home and garden products, leisure activities and more) •Initial training and on-going development •Brilliant opportunities to take on more responsibility and long term career prospects Languages:English, German
