THE ROLE The Space Department have an opportunity for a Product Manager. Reporting to a Category Planner and working within a category management team (CMT), this executive position will be responsible for maximising the return on category space for a specific portfolio of categories through the creation of shopper focused layouts that are delivered to Retail right first time. Key responsibilities will include: Create layouts relevant for each store size, taking into account shopper behaviour, sales, profit, product mix, merchandising techniques and retail efficiency. Utilise relevant and effective merchandising techniques to create layouts that are easy to shop, improve value impression and inspire and emotionally connect with customers. Optimise layout space performance using JDA space and range analysis in conjunction with other market data, insights and trends. Improve retail efficiencies through the influencing of internal and external stakeholders in order to optimise pack sizes, packaging formats and shelf capacities. Manage category review and layout change critical paths to deliver right first time for retail. Work with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage fixture requirements for layout changes, including developing new fixture components. Manage capital expenditure within agreed budgets, adhering to key financial processes. Lead and develop a team of Assistant Manager and Merchandisers. THE PERSON Excellent communication and influencing skills and a proven ability to work within a cross-functional environment. An effective leader with evidence of engaging and developing people. Commercial and analytical skills, ideally with experience of customer and market insight. Strong planning & organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
