VACANCY REF No: 1073.15b VACANCY (Post Title): Clinical Psychologist - Department of Psychological Services and Research, Crichton Hall. GRADE: Band 8a SALARY: £40,428 to £48,514 HOURS: 37.5hpw Fixed Term for 23 months Description of the Role: A full time vacancy has arisen in our Department of Psychological Services and Research. The post is managed within the Child &Adolescent Psychological Service. Applications are welcomed from experienced, newly qualified or about to qualify clinical psychologists. Applications are invited from an enthusiastic and energetic HCPC Clinical Psychologist who wants to play a key role in this new service. Through Innovation Fund money, this post will be instrumental in the design and development of a new neurodevelopmental service within the child and adolescent specialty. The successful candidate will be involved at all levels of service design, policy development and engagement with service users, carers and professionals in setting up this service. As well as some direct work with service users whose emotional and behavioural difficulties relate to complex neurodevelopmental difficulties, the postholder will also be expected to offer consultation to other health professionals, local authority staff and the third sector to support their work with this client group. The postholder will also provide training and supervision to staff to enhance psychological practice within the wider workforce The Department, which now has a complement of around 60 staff, has Psychologists in all major specialities and it is a friendly, supportive and lively place to work. We have strong links with Edinburgh and Glasgow Universities and take trainees from both Clinical Psychology courses. We also provide placements and supervision for trainee Counsellors and CBT Therapists. The post has dedicated CPD and supervision time. Informal enquiries/visits are welcomed.
