Job Description You have an Exercise Instructor qualification to Level 2 and proven work experience in the health and wellbeing/leisure sector delivering Aqua aerobics courses. As well as being able to work individually or as part of a team, you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. It would be desirable if you held an aqua-aerobics qualification and are able to work Tuesday and Thursday evenings. You will be required to plan, develop and deliver a programme of Aqua Fit classes at Westhill Swimming Pool, ensuring the provision of a safe and enjoyable service to all customers. Carry out effective Health Profile Assessments to a professional standard. Ensure the provision of safe and enjoyable delivery of service to all customers. Responsibilities * Design and deliver quality Health & Fitness activities for target groups, taking into account individual and group coaching needs * Comply with Aberdeenshire’s normal operating procedures for Health & Safety for the activity undertaken including equipment and the supervision of participants * Undertake all relevant administration for each programme or session * Maintain links with relevant individuals and teams, to ensure a quality service, assist with quality assurance systems, and help create links to participation opportunities within the community * Deliver Health Profile Assessments for target groups and individuals * Supervise Coaching Assistants and Exercise Instructors, and develop mentoring and development opportunities where appropriate The Individual Essential Criteria * Proven suitable working experience in the health and wellbeing / leisure sector * Ability to organise coaching sessions and programmes * Ability to do inductions and confidential client assessments * Exercise Instructor S/NVQ level 2 or above * Excellent organisational skills / write training plans * Good communication skills * Follow prescribed procedures linked to control factors * Excellent interpersonal skills * Ability to use own initiative / problem solving * Undertake activity occasionally requiring considerable physical effort and using specialist exercise equipment * Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive issues * Capable of working in a team environment * Ability to use initiative in day-to-day duties * Ability to travel between places of work * Ability to work Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings Desirable criteria * Basic IT literacy * Analysing data information and producing reports * Presentation skills * Ability to supervise staff * Aqua Aerobics qualification * Later Life Training L4 * HNC / HND or SVQ L4 equivalent * Cardiac Rehab 3 / 4 * Sports coaching qualification Level 2 * ECDL and keyboard skills / knowledge of specialist IT programmes * Working knowledge of Local Government, preferably within Education Learning & Leisure * Ability to develop systems and procedures * Customer care training
