JOB DIMENSIONS. The purpose of the Programme Officer post is:. - To assist the Senior Programme Officers, Programme Managers and Senior Managers in managing schemes and programmes that form part of the NIHR training and fellowship portfolio;. - To support the Senior Programme Officers, Programme Managers and Senior Managers in their role of having oversight of the various funding streams;. - To work alongside the other Programme Officers and Senior Programme Officers to ensure delivery of the various funding schemes, programmes, workshops and conferences;. - To be involved in other diverse areas of work as required in order to deliver the programmes and awards. Essential. - Foundation Degree (or equivalent experience). - Advanced skills in producing and communicating written, tabular and graphical information;. - High level of inter-personal skills to enable the post-holder to communicate with staff at all levels, external contacts and a broad range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and a variety of different organisations;. - Appreciation of confidentiality;. - Experience of prioritising workload and the ability to take responsibility and manage own workload;. - An understanding of academic and /or public sector health research and its structures;. - Understanding of the roles of other team members and the consequent pressures;. - Ability to demonstrate competence in advanced keyboard skills, with significant experience of using Microsoft Office especially Excel and experience of using the internet. THIS IS A CONTRACT POST, INITIALLY FOR 3 MONTHS, WITH THE VIEW OF EXTENSION. HOURS OF WORK, 37.5 HOURS (MONDAY-FRIDAY, 9AM-5PM).
