Journalist - Digital / Social Media Team (Sport / Football). Position: Club Journalist. Location: Liverpool, Merseyside. Job type: Permanent. Hours: 35 hours per week 5 out of 7 days. Salary: £Competitive. About the Role:. The Digital Media team are responsible for club websites, social channels, LFCTV, LFCTV GO, mobile products, digital games and licenses. The department manages many fan-facing propositions and is responsible for driving numerous commercial opportunities as well as contributing to fan engagement, sponsor activity and the development of the club`s international presence. They are now looking to strengthen their team and have an exciting opportunity for a Journalist to assist the website editorial team with the production of current and new and interesting ideas and features to enhance the content on the official club. Within this role you will work alongside the editorial team to generate interesting and innovative content, including the daily creation of new news stories and features. You will also come up with fresh new feature and project ideas which will drive new users towards the website and retain existing visitors on the website, and will assist with the squad and club staff interview process, which will include off-site interviews with current / former players and club staff. In addition you will work closely with the club`s in-house TV station, on the interview process, as well as promotion of TV content across all platforms, ensuring that content in key site areas is relevant, current and accurate. You will also help drive subscriptions to their premium content service by helping produce compelling video pieces, and liaise with club partners and other departments to help boost commercial revenues for the business through content production. About You:. To be successful in this role, you will have formal journalism training, either at University or higher education level. You should have a strong and detailed knowledge of football in general, and must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of club media and its purpose, as well as social media - preferably within football. You must have strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. You will also need to be a good communicator with good written / scripting skills, and have a strong understanding of the importance of imagery on club platforms. Within this role you will also need to work weekends and evenings on a regular basis, including unsociable hours. Graphic creating and editing skills are desirable.
