Head of Sales (6-12 month FTC) Teacher Training & Education Market Holborn, London, Full-time Reporting to: Global Director What youll do The role will require an individual used to a relatively long and complex sales cycle, who is able to maintain high-level relationships with senior school leaders and clearly outline the benefits of partnering with the Institute. The sell is highly consultative, and requires an individual who genuinely understands the UK teacher training market, has a passion for education and training, and the ability to turn abstract requirements into a clear plan for school leaders. It also requires someone who can work closely with our existing recruitment sales team to ensure they are informed and able to pass across qualified leads successfully. Sales so far for the Institute have been largely organic and via marketing activity, so this is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to really define and own the sales process and pipeline. Expertise in sales in an education environment is highly desirable, although for the right candidate with a strong sales aptitude, a background within teaching/teacher training may also be appropriate (as would a strong sales background in another discipline and a strong aptitude for teacher training and development). The successful candidate will need a high level of credibility, and the ability to nurture relationships at the highest levels. Key responsibilities Driving sales with schools, school groups, HEIs and other decision-makers across Institutes main programme lines: Subject Knowledge Enhancement, School Direct, Straight to Teaching and CPD Working closely with recruitment sales team to ensure they are supported in initial conversations and provide quality leads Ensuring consistent pricing and ensuring profit margins are maintained for new business Ensuring a clear, prioritised list of prospects Defining the sales process end-to-end Ensuring capacity to deliver with internal operations teams Defining and helping to deliver (with head of marketing) a relevant programme of engagement to ensure the Institute is positioned as a key partner for ITT and CPD (events, dinners, round tables etc) Ensuring product propositions have a clear go-to-market sales plan, and ensuring requirements from customers are clearly articulated to product teams Who you are Highly desirable: proven background selling complex solutions to schools in the UK or internationally Desirable: comprehensive knowledge of the UK ITT and CPD landscape, competitors and regulatory framework Essential: an understanding of the training needs and challenges that schools face. Essential: first rate interpersonal skills and consultative selling skills Highly desirable: QTS or significant experience in a UK teaching environment in another context Highly desirable: experience working in training and development Essential: good understanding of digital platforms and the advantages of delivering training online. Essential: ability to travel around UK (including full UK driving licence). Some international travel possibly also required.
