Job Title Product Merchandiser Salary AGBP18,000 to AGBP22,000 Hours a) 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday OR b) 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 12.00am Friday The Candidate * Strong analytical and numerical skills to work out budgets and understand sales figures * The ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment and to quickly identify problems and recommend solutions. * Sound decision making skills and the ability to plan and prioritise * Excellent communication and negotiating skills * The capability to work well as part of a team and to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people. * Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand what will appeal to people * Computer literacy * Creative flair * Self:confidence The Role As a Product Merchandiser you will work in close liaison with the Retail Merchandiser. You will assist in ensuring that products appear in the right store or website at the appropriate time and correct positioning and quantities. This involves working closely within the team to enable the accurate forecasting of trends, stock levels and monitor performance. * Planning product ranges , preparing sales and stock plan indications in conjunction with your designated Retail Merchandiser. * Assisting in liaising with buyers, analysts and stores * Maintaining a comprehensive library of appropriate data * Working closely on visual display with relevant parties to decide how products should be displayed to maximise sales. * Assisting in the production of layout plans for both stores and websites for products * Assisting in forecasting profits and sales , optimising sales volume and profitability of designated product areas. * Assisting in preparation of planning budgets and sales forecasts and figures for new ranges * Assisting controlling stock levels based on forecasts for the period * Use computer software , for example, to handle sales statistics, produce sales projections, spreadsheets and graphs. * Analyse every aspect of bestsellers (for example, best selling price points, colours or styles) and ensuring that they reach their full potential. * Maintaining awareness of competitors performance * Monitoring slow sellers and assist in taking action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary * Gather information on customers reactions to products * Analyse previous periods sales and report on current product lines * Assist in preparing financial presentations for senior managers * Assist in overviewing distribution of stock through range * Indicate required cost prices, stock required, timescales and delivery dates. Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed efficiently and correctly. * Identify production and supply difficulties, dealing with any problems or delays as they arise * Creation of product specification documentation * General administration duties including product website creation of new product offers The Company Our Client is a dynamic retailer with ambitious growth plans, including opening 30 new stores within the next 3 years.
