Milton Keynes College deliver an exciting and varied curriculum in 28 of Her Majesty's Prisons and Young Offenders Institutes. We also have a successful Employment Academy model which works with employers and stakeholders to enhance our learners' chances of re-entering society successfully, to find employment upon release and to live fulfilling lives. We are looking to recruit an experienced ITQ Lecturer with Coding knowledge to enhance the delivery of our ITQ courses that we provide to a diverse group of learners within the prison.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated ITQ Lecturer to deliver learner success, through effective teaching and delivery on a variety of vocational courses. This vacancy would suit a highly motivated, innovative and flexible lecturer, with a can do approach to education. The ideal candidate will be passionate and creative, who can thrive working in a challenging yet rewarding environment. You will be able to offer a range of ITQ, Coding and industry knowledge to our learners, to guide and assist them throughout their ITQ courses.

Since 1974, Drake Hall has been used as a women's prison it holds both adult and young offenders and specialises in foreign national prisoners and in resettlement. The prison's regime includes incentives, education, workshops, training courses, farms and gardens, a works department, and a gym. There are also voluntary and paid outwork programmes and a listener scheme.

The requirement of this role is to work across the whole prison estate, on all wings where education is delivered.

As a successful candidate you will have:

• Hold a vocational qualification (level 3 or above in ITQ).
• Hold a recognised teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE, Cert Ed).
• Have knowledge/previous experience of ITQ Coding.
• Hold relevant assessor/verifier awards.
• Have teaching/training or vocational experience in a relevant discipline/subject area and relevant up-to-date knowledge.
• Have a proven track record of managing and supporting diverse groups of learners through nationally accredited programmes.
• Have experience of identifying, developing and sharing innovative and creative teaching resources
• Have experience of working with students who may have little experience of education and training (desirable).
• Have knowledge of current curriculum and accreditation developments within Further Education and specific subject area(s).
• Have the ability to teach creatively, adapting to the needs of a variety of learners and willing to explore new teaching and learning strategies.
• Have good IT skills and willing to develop further.
• Show accuracy and precision in written presentation.

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum

Salary: £17,662 - £31,940 per annum
