Sous Chef Newcastle Quayside We are currently recruiting for a talented Sous Chef who is capable of strengthening our existing team. This position would ideally suit a Junior Sous Chef striving for promotion or a Sous Chef who wishes to develop their career within a product-focused and award-winning pub set in the heart of Newcastle’s Quayside. The Sous Chef will assist in the management of the kitchen in the Head Chef`s absence in order to maintain the high standards of food produced within this fast paced environment. The Company The Broad Chare is part of the 21 Hospitality Group which has been in operation for the past 27 years. It opened in 2011 and has received numerous accolades. It holds a Bib Gourmand, was featured as an Editor’s Choice in the 2015 Good Food Guide and has just been listed in the top 50 Gastro Pubs in the UK. www.thebroadchare.co.uk In the past five years, it has gained an excellent reputation for producing great food for a loyal customer base. Our team consists of young chefs that passionately and skilfully prepare dishes using the freshest seasonal ingredients available. The Person To be successful for the role of Sous Chef you will be / need: Experience of working as a Jnr Sous Chef/Sous Chef using fresh ingredients and producing high quality food in a similar environment Confident, creative and passionate about good food served well Knowledge of classic cooking techniques and British food The ability to work well within a team, be hard working and have a positive work ethic Proven leadership qualities to assist the development of our more junior chefs Trained to Level 2/3 in a NVQ/VRQ Professional Cookery qualification The ability to consistently meet customer expectations An understanding of kitchen HACCP An excellent understanding of food hygiene An excellent command of the English language For the role of Sous Chef there will be a remuneration of between £25,000 and £28,000 per annum, this figure will include any service charge.
