Senior Quantity Surveyor. Highways & Civils construction. NW London. 50-65k + car + package. My client urgently requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor to start on a civils and highways project in NW London for a main contractor. Major highways scheme. This contractor is known extremely well within the UK for its presence within the construction industry on a variety of civils schemes. MUST HAVE NEW BUILD ROAD EXPERIENCE. You will be responsible for assisting with the managing of the project and controlling commercial, financial and contractual elements to maximise profitability and ensure the companies legal and contractual obligations are met. - Duties include assistance with the following:. - Liaising and assisting the Quantity Surveyor. - Cost control. - Monthly financial reporting. - Procurement of sub-contractors. - Management of sub-contract accounts and variations / valuations,. - Negotiation and settlement of final accounts with both clients and sub-contractors,. Project Overview :. CSCS: Required. Qualifications Desired: BSC Quantity Surveying. Professional Membership Desired: MRICS, MCIOB, MICES. Relevant Experience Desired: Minimum 7 - 10 years' experience; Highways (new build); Structures. Initially office based but moving out to be site based for the construction elements, Role to assist in the early Contractor Involvement stage of the Development of the M6 (Smart Motorway programme upgrade), undertaking: (I) Tender procurement Assistance, estimating and providing contractual advice and evaluation, and (ii) Procuring and administering early survey works (topo / GI etc): (iii) Preparing financial reporting / applications for payment Reporting to SCM/CM. The role is expected to develop into a full time site based role as the project leads into construction. Site role likely to include the procurement and administration of Subcontracts; together with financial reporting etc.,. Experience required. You will need to have experience working with ideally a main/ top contractor with a civil engineering background. Ideally on NEC or IchemE forms of contract. A Qualification is also required ideally a degree but HNC / HND or Degree will also be required.
