Senior Mechanical/Thermal Design Engineer - Surrey Summary: This role is to design and develop company products focusing on base station cellular equipment. The successful candidate will be expected to develop electro-mechanical designs from initial ideas and concepts prior to detail product design - followed by qualification of design, prior to product release. The role is expected to work closely with other members of the company to achieve the required product development goals. Job Responsibilities: Responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to: *Thermal modelling expertise in CFD *Experience of forced and free convection systems *Experience at environment, system and component characterisation levels applied in electronics cooling *Analytical ability to apply reasoning to test assumption, result observation and be able to make necessary changes where required to test/and or modelling methodology *Design and development of product for telecommunication equipment, 19" rack and harsh environments *Understanding market competition and how comparable designs can be achieved/surpassed *In depth understanding of design and manufacture processes that are used in low to high volume manufacture and how selection needs to be appropriate to suit product at concept stage *Flexible working attitude and ability to work independently and take the initiative.
