Transport Supervisor £22-24,000 dependent on experience Monday to Friday 6am to 3pm South Bolton The Candidate You will have the following skills, experiences and attributes… • Experience of working as a Transport Supervisor or similar. • You must have a Class 2 license and Driver CPC. • The ability to manage performance and quality through self and own teams, striving for ongoing success, pushing boundaries and challenging day to day obstacles. • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through oral and presentational skills as well as excellent writing skills. • A motivated self-starter, capable of both working in a team as well as alone. • Good self-motivation, time management and personal target-setting skills. • Ability to multi-task under pressure. • Ability to set and meet deadlines • Manages own workload/area of responsibility for self and the team. The Role Your main roles and responsibilities will include… • Management of a fleet of circa 30 vehicles including 18t, 7.5t, vans etc. • Supervising a team of 20-30 staff. • To be responsible for the co-ordination of daily transport routes and planning, ensuring maximum vehicle utilisation and load consolidation as required. • Responsible for daily backhaul schedules and driver's paperwork. • To debrief drivers on a daily basis, creating reports of all activity undertaken and acting on any issues raised. • Ensure all drivers adhere to drivers hour and working time directive legislation and signed records are kept to verify that any transgressions have been communicated to drivers in question. • To be an active member of the team ensuring support and co-operation is given to other members to assist achievement of distribution objectives. • Be willing to drive HGV’s as required. • To develop your team in order to maintain effectiveness in their roles. • To be aware of the Health and Safety requirements and other company policies in respect of Health and Safety issues.
