Cavendish School of English is recruiting a summer School Centre Manager for international junior programmes at the Oxford Brooks campus, Oxford in July and August 2016. The Centre Manager is ultimately responsible for all aspects of the centre. They are expected to ensure that the course is delivered to the highest possible standards and that the centre is as effective, safe and successful as possible for all involved. It is primarily a non-teaching position but some cover teaching may be required.   The successful candidate should have previous managerial and teaching experience, hold a degree and either have QTS or equivalent, i.e. CELTA/Trinity certificate. A full DBS is also a requirement of this position.   The following are key duties, other tasks will naturally arise which you will be expected to fulfil in order to help the programme run to its full potential. *Coordinating set up of centre. *Developing and maintaining a good relationship with host centre staff *Ensuring the facilities are kept in good working order, and undertaking damage checks *Understanding all matters relating to the centre and its rules and facilities *Managing the residence by following up student complaints and requests. *Holding daily meetings with group leaders, teaching staff and staff from the host institution *Informing the host institution of student numbers regularly. *Helping shut down and pack up the centre at the end of the course. *Keeping records up to date on a daily basis (room lists and student medical conditions). *Maintaining the student incident, requests, and complaints logs  *Being the local safeguarding officer *Make sure all policies and procedures relating to student welfare are followed *Disciplining and controlling students *Being the point of contact for students in need of help or advice. *Welcome and induct new students at the centre as they arrive *Make sure departures happen smoothly when students come to depart *Helping and encouraging students to integrate and enjoy their time at the centre *Maintaining good working relationships with all staff. *Assisting with running and organisation of activities and excursions as necessary *Ensuring all procedures set out in staff guides and policies are followed. *Liaising with Head Office, Bournemouth on a Daily basis *Maintaining the good reputation of Cavendish School of English. *Ensuring the programme is run as per the Cavendish School of English publicity and standards, and meets British Council standards at all times.
