We have 2 vacancies in North Cumbria supporting medicines management projects in a range of units and sites (mental health, community hospitals and community services). The posts will be based in North Cumbria Trust locations depending on recruitment. (Part-time, Flexible working and Job share considered). We are looking for experienced pharmacy technicians to work closely with clinical pharmacists, nursing and medical staff to:. . co-ordinate day-to-day medication requirements,. . undertake medication reconciliation process, checking and facilitating the use of patients own drugs,. . undertake discharge counselling, assist with the co-ordination of discharge medication and accurate transfer of information about patients medicines. . liaise with the pharmacy supply service to support the continuation of safe clozapine services. . assist with the implementation of medicines policies and procedures to improve patient centred care and medicines safety. . contribute to the evaluation of services including audit. You will be an experienced technician with an NVQ/BTEC in pharmaceutical science or equivalent and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Ideally you should hold an additional technician qualification or have extensive experience of a range of pharmacy duties in a variety of pharmacy settings. We are developing our pharmacy team and you would be required to contribute to the development of the technician roles within the team. You will be trustworthy, reliable, enthusiastic, organised, a good communicator and will be able to demonstrate a focus on patient centred working. We will encourage further study and development for the successful applicant. You will have a driving license as the post requires travel on a regular basis to a variety of Trust sites.
