Linux Engineer I am currently recruiting a Linux Engineer to be based in London. My client is a publishing company who are looking to bring in a permanent Linux Engineer. This role is within the Infrastructure Platform Team, which consists of specialists in AWS, Linux/Unix, Windows, VMware, and Storage. Responsibilities Working with the Architecture Team to design multi-site platform solutions to run systems and services that fulfill business requirements. Lead and participate in the design and review of Linux and AWS based systems and application deployments. Recommend and manage the implementation of modifications to Linux and AWS in order to improve efficiency, reliability, availability and performance. Assist with the definition of processes for ongoing support and maintenance, including: Operating System upgrades, hot fixes, system updates and vendor supplied patches, according to best practices. Skills and Experience Proven experience designing and delivering highly available services on AWS. Strong hands-on technical expertise in Administration and Engineering of Linux operating systems and associated architecture. Knowledge of Red Hat, CentOS or Amazon Linux.
