An immediate need has arisen for an English Teacher at a Northumberland school.  The role is on a full time basis and will commence as soon as possible, it is likely to be ongoing until July.  You will be responsible for teaching pupils across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. This is a caring, friendly and inclusive school providing for pupils aged 11-18.  Their success is founded upon the support of a wonderful staff team, a clear focus on learning and a desire to develop high aspirations in pupils.  Each pupil is treated as an individual, supported by a strong pastoral system and given access to a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The emphasis is for pupils to leave school with excellent qualifications, high standards of literacy and ambitious plans for the future.  The ability range of students is wide. A higher than average number of pupils stay in education beyond 16 and study at the sixth form. To be successful in this role you must:. be an enthusiastic and committed teacher with vision, drive and commitment. have the skills to make a significant impact on raising the quality of teaching and learning. be proficient in planning, assessment and target setting so that all children make good or better progress. be able to inspire and motivate. be committed to raising achievement and standards. hold a relevant teaching qualification and QTS. have recent experience / knowledge of teaching English at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 within the UK National Curriculum.
