Clinical Director – North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group The base is currently the Primary Care Centre, Colchester but will be moving to Aspen House, Stephenson Road, Colchester, CO4 9QR NHS North East Essex CCG is looking for an exceptional Clinical Director who will provide strong clinical leadership to the CCG by providing an expert clinical voice to a number of delivery areas within the CCG enabling the organisation to achieve the best possible standards of healthcare and to deliver its statutory functions The post holder will work closely with other CCG leads and play a key part in developing and assisting the development and delivery of the strategic plan of the CCG including effective use of resources and quality improvement. This role will need to work in an integrated way with clinicians and commissioners and providers to promote and embed innovation, transformation and sustainability within North East Essex. The CCG has 41 member practices with a registered population of 335,000 and a budget of £415m North East Essex is one of the most challenged systems in the country but the big challenges we face are matched by a real energy, ambition and determination to work with system partners to rejuvenate the local health and care system. We are a forward-looking CCG with an appetite and opportunity to transform services at pace to provide better patient experience, outcomes and value for money across the full range of CCG commissioned services. Our CCG has been selected to be part of phase one of the NHS Right Care Programme and part of the Emergency Care Improvement Programme – which gives us fantastic opportunities to work with experts in their field to produce better outcomes for our patients. This role will take the Senior Responsible Officer role in the Right Care Programme. We are also on a journey with our general practice colleagues to transform the delivery of primary care services – this role will play a key part in that work. You will have a proven track record in supporting improvements for patients and addressing health inequalities, working with key stakeholders in developing effective partnerships and commissioning integrated clinical change across health and social care, in a challenging climate. As Clinical Director, you will support the Accountable Officer and Chair to enhance public and patient engagement and will play a key role in interactions with all stakeholders including NHS England. You will be a member of the Governing Body, responsible for ensuring that the CCG discharges its functions effectively, efficiently, economically, with good governance and in accordance with the terms of its constitution. Your knowledge, skills and competencies will reflect the seniority and importance of this role and it is essential that you have: * An ability to command credibility at Board Level and to constructively challenge and influence internal and external stakeholders; * A driven, inspirational and collaborative leadership style. * Strong analytical and decision making skills with a focus on delivering impressive results and innovative solutions. To be successful in the role you will have experience of working in a senior clinical leadership role with demonstrable evidence that you have the skills necessary to influence stakeholders and partnership organisations, and to deliver whole system clinical transformation. In addition to this, you will have experience of board-level working, leading improvements in healthcare or similar services, a track record of successfully working with clinical professionals, experience of managing budgets and a clear understanding of the importance of corporate and clinical governance.
