Chef Manager – North Birmingham · Chef Manager · £21,000 · Term time only 40 weeks per year · Monday to Friday 40 hours per week Aspens Services Ltd are a growing independent contract catering company, with a passion for serving high quality, freshly cooked meals from locally sourced ingredients in to the Education sector. We are currently recruiting a hands on Chef Manager for one of our secondary schools in the Erdington area of Birmingham. They will be able to provide an efficient and effective catering service in line with company standards of service, quality and presentation, whilst complying with legislation and our financial targets. Below is a brief overview of what the Chef Manager will be responsible for:- Producing the company menus using fresh, local produce Ensuring that all food is produced as per the menu using costed recipes and that there are sufficient quantities to meet the service requirements. The service of food is prompt and efficient and to the company standard in terms of presentation. Ensuring that the quality and presentation of hospitality catering is to the highest standard as outlined in the hospitality brochure. Motivating and communicating with your team, carrying out staff training, recruitment and monitoring attendance ensuring all records are up to date. Completing on line bookwork, producing weekly and monthly business forecasts and implementing any corrective actions. A full understanding and implementation of all Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation and processes. Achieving sales targets and gross profit margins, whilst controlling the labour and sundries costs. Ideally from a craft background, you will have experience of working in a customer facing, preferably educational catering environment. We will consider a candidate from other sectors that have the necessary transferable skills and experience within contract catering. This is a term time only position, Monday to Friday, 40 hour operating week and the salary reflects this.
