Are you an experienced nurse, social worker, psychologist, family therapist or OT and used to working with children and young people presenting with emerging emotional and mental health distress? Torbay CAMHS, alongside Torbay schools, are looking for Primary Mental Health Workers who are committed to developing new ways of supporting early intervention provision within Torbay and its schools. These posts are part of some new funding secured from local schools to develop and enhance Primary Mental Health Work provision within education. They represent an exciting new opportunity to expand and enhance CAMHS provision within Torbay for children, young people and their families. Posts are available on both a full time and part time basis. You will be based within local schools and offer initial assessments and short term, evidence based interventions to young people. You will provide a vital link to school and education staff within the school and offer consultation to support understanding of mental health issues within the education arena. This will be a developing role and you will need to be confident and able to pioneer new ways of working whilst developing good working relationships with key professionals within the community.
