Job description:
Helping us to create a state­of­the­art automotive machine vision technology development centre, creating tools and systems that help us to measure, analyse, understand and improve the performance of automotive sensor systems. This could include the design and development of high­performance data recording systems, distributed computing clusters to analyse the response of algorithms and systems to large quantities of recorded video data, hardware­in­the­loop test systems, "data science" style results analysis, visualisation & reporting mechanisms and various systems engineering, systems integration and systems administration activities to make sure that our systems are all well engineered, well maintained and orderly. Main tasks: Building out our development and test automation infrastructure. Systems analysis, design, development and integration of various on­vehicle data gathering systems. (Optical, GPS, INS, laser, radar etc...) Integration of third­party tools, MIL, SIL & HIL test units into our development automation systems. Analysis, modification and refactoring of product code as required to support testability objectives. Providing expert advice and tools support to our development team, including advanced Git, Gerrit, Docker, Python, C++ and embedded C usage. Design and implementation of "data science" systems to analyse product performance & report system performance and software quality. Job requirements: Education: Quantitative knowledge and aptitude, an understanding of statistics and of the scientific method, evidenced, for example, by a good undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a scientific or engineering subject. Professional Experience: Evidence of enthusiasm, intelligence, adaptability and operational independence is most highly valued, as is practical experience doing scientific, quantitative, algorithmic or “data science” software development. Experience with embedded and/or automotive software development is also a plus, but is not expected. Some C or C++ programming experience is essential. Experience scripting with Python, MATLAB and Bash is valued, but equivalent experience with other scripting languages will also be considered. Experience working in and supporting a globally distributed development team is valued. Fluent English language speaking and comprehension skills are essential.
