Job description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Yardhand to join a leading LPG supplier based in Newport, Gwent. In return, we offer a competitive salary, 25 days holiday pro rata to working time, plus statutory entitlement, NEST pension scheme and death in service benefit. We supply LPG to a wide range of customers across Britain ranging from private house-holders, pubs and hotels, to industrial and distribution businesses, caravan parks, poultry and arable farmers and petrol stations. The Yardhand will be responsible for maintaining Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder stocks and providing an efficient turnaround of vehicles whilst maintaining health and safety standards at the site. The Yardhand's role will involve:. Filling of LPG cylinders in accordance with Company standards & Codes of practice. Ensuring cylinder filling stocks meets with supply & demand. Loading and unloading of cylinders on vehicles and trailers. Supervising the delivery of Bulk transfers. Be active in the reporting of 'near misses'. Complying to company Operating Procedures and Works Instructions. Handling of heavy objects. The successful Yardhand will:. Have the ability to work in a team or on own initiative. Have a positive attitude towards Health & Safety. Be able to multi task effectively. Be able to demonstrate numeracy and literacy skills. Be able to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues at all levels. Be able to handle heavy objects. Desired skills:. Experience of safe handling and storage of dangerous goods. Counter balance Fork-Lift truck license. Knowledge of Bulk Tanker operations. Full Driving license. The Yardhand will be flexible and hardworking and be able to work within a physically demanding role, which involves manual handling cylinders and other manual work as required for extended periods of time. You will be able to work in a team or on your own initiative with little supervision as and when required and be able to follow instruction.
