Vehicle Technician/ MOT Tester. Location: Doncaster. Salary: £19,240- £20,280 per annum (OTE 23,880). Contract type: Permanent. Hours: 40 hours per week. Let's start with the facts. The role in a nutshell. To undertake vehicle servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs to an extremely high standard, working swiftly and efficiently to create a safe and productive environment. Your role as MOT Tester will be to conduct MOT inspections, issue MOT documentation and ensure the compliance with the MOT certification process in accordance with VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) and Company expectations. What you will be doing. - To conduct servicing and repairs to many different marques of vehicle. - To perform diagnostic testing to identify faults. - Ability to maintain a safe and productive work environment. - Work on a team basis with your peer group across all other functions across the business unit for the benefit of overall business performance and maintaining positive and open communication to assist this process. - Effectively communicate to customers. - Understanding of different warranty schemes and how these affect customers. - Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and on time. - Ensure PDI's are completed and notify the customer of any advisory. - Follow assignments through to completion, meets deadlines and deliver on promises. - Perform MOT tests to the standards instructed by VOSA. - To ensure sufficient time is correctly spent in inspecting vehicles. - To carry out mechanical repairs on a range of Vehicles as and when required. - To ensure all equipment is maintained and safely used in accordance with the manufactures guide and Company processes. What we expect from you. - Essential to hold a full UK/EU Driving Licence. - Own a stocked tool box and basic servicing items with being able to use these for work purposes. - Ability to communicate with a diverse work group. - Experienced in communicating effectively with customers, in a clear and concise manner. - Experienced as a Vehicle Technician desirable. - Relevant City and Guilds qualification desirable. - Relevant qualification / education to perform MOT Testing.
