We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, eager-to-learn individual to join our client based in Sheffield as an Apprentice Software Tester. Our client is an established and highly successful software specialist, who offer a direct approach to knowledge management, pioneering new techniques in real-time data and information collection. The position offers an attractive weekly wage, the opportunity to develop your existing skills and knowledge as well as a global and industry recognised qualification. During the apprenticeship you will work alongside the Development Engineers to ensure the companys products meet high levels of reliability, maintainability, usability and performance. Company platforms are written in Ruby on rails, Java, Objective C and SQ L databases. Your role would include: Participating in design and development meetings in order to ensure designs and implementations are testable Working within a small team of developers  Reviewing and running software testing scripts Reporting and logging of issues as found during testing Execution of manual tests, including exploratory testing, regression testing etc. Monitoring system performance on a daily basis Skills Required: Some experience of computing projects or software development would be preferred. Ideally you may have undertaken such projects either in a work placement, school environment or as part of a hobby Training To Be Provided: Mentoring and training will be provided in-house by other team members. As familiarity with the systems is gained, the candidate can expect larger assignments which contribute more directly therefore more responsibility will be assumed. You would receive the following qualifications through Baltic Training Services: Level 3 Diploma in Software Development Microsoft Technology Associate in Software Development Fundamentals (MTA) Level 2 Functional Skills (Literacy, Numeracy and ICT) Qualifications Required: Preferably 5 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent/predicted Passion for IT For anyone who doesnt meet the above requirements, please do not let it put you off applying.
