Senior Infrastructure Engineer ( network & security). Our client are urgently looking to recruit a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will focus on Network & Security, and be responsible for implementing, deploying and supporting the hosted and cloud-based infrastructure across the business. This Senior Infrastructure Engineer role will see you work on a variety of projects interacting with other members of the operations team, IT architects and project managers as you provide technical expertise for build and operation. It is a highly technical and hands around virtualisation, firewall configuration & management, and LAN, Wi-Fi, QoS technologies. Key Duties:. Implementing, deploying and supporting the on premise, hosted and cloud-based infrastructure across the business. Provide technical expertise for build and operation across the business. Interact with various other teams including IT Architects, PMs and Management. Analyse and provide solutions to networking and security issues across the business. Implementation and troubleshooting networks, particularly LAN switching, firewalls, VPN, VoIP and load balancers. Utilise technologies such as Windows Server, System Centre, Office365 and Microsoft Azure. Have an input and help direct the way IT infrastructure looks for the group. Work across diverse projects within the business. Work with additional technologies such as MS Office 365 Setup, SCCM, Hyper-V, Storage Area networks and Physical servers, DHCP, DNS. Successful candidates will have a strong background as a Network Engineer focusing on Networking and Security. Ideally CCNA or MSCA qualified with a broad skillset including Microsoft technologies and LAN, Wi-Fi and QoS technologies. Any additional experience of Hyper V, VMWare configuration , troubleshooting, SCCM or other monitoring tools will be beneficial. Key characteristics needed for the role is good problem solving ability, flexible approach to work to suit the needs of the business and work across a variety of different projects. The role is based in Birmingham and offers a salary up to £42k + excellent benefits and will allow the individual to play a key role in helping shape the technical expertise across the business.
