Job description:
A great opportunity has risen for an experienced Section Engineer, based in West Midlands. Our client have been running for over 60 years, operating out of numerous offices across England, employing around 300 staff. They are experts within the Civil Engineering sector; undertaking projects on Highways, Sea Defence, Deep Drainage and Infrastructure ranging from £500,000 to £50m in value. They are looking for a hard-working individual who is looking for great career progression and exposure to many different, exciting contracts. Key Responsibilities: • Organise setting-out resource and allocate engineering resources to projects • Provide effective supervision and guidance to less experienced engineering staff. • Ensure works are undertaken safely and in accordance with HS&E legislation and site HSE plan • Implement document management systems • Apply engineering principles in the preparation of calculations/drawings/ sketches and resolution of engineering challenges within specific knowledge areas • Check engineering drawings/specifications, identifying and resolving design conflicts • Produce and review method statements, inspection and test plans and risk assessments. • Ensure all technical information is available when required for the delivery of the works • Communicate with production operatives and put resources to work effectively • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner Knowledge, Skills & Experience: • Experience of working within the civil engineering industry, ideally on contracts involving Highways, Drainage and Infrastructure • Proven technical knowledge of materials and methods • Team player • Good communication skills and leadership abilities • Report and writing skills • Budgetary awareness and control • Logical and well organised • Competent in the use of relevant IT applications • Ability to work under pressure • Flexibility and adaptability required to work anywhere geographically in the region Education & Qualifications: • Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering - minimum • Chartered status of a professional body - advantageous • CSCS Card • SSSTS/SMSTS My client is looking for someone with at least 4 as an engineer Apply: If you are interested in this role and meet the requested level of experience, please send your CV for the attention of Daniel Lewis at BCS Recruitment.
