SCADA (WinCC OA) Software Engineer ( Design and Development ) London : Brentford GBP35k : GBP45k + bens Fantastic opportunity to develop your technical skills on a major new construction project, working with an experienced team of specialists on the latest SCADA and PLC products The Role The role is to design, code, configure and commission control systems for client projects. An understanding of networking would be an advantage. Key duties and responsibilities include: * Development of safety control systems using the highly object oriented, SIL3 certified Simatic WinCC Open Architecture * Working in a quality controlled environment (ISO9001) to the safety standard BS EN 61508 * Design including writing user requirements and functional specifications * Detailed software design using formal methods (including the Yourdon method of structured system analysis and design) * Coding of SCADA add:ons and bespoke systems using C, C++, C * Coding and configuration of control systems using PLC coding software * Development of real time web applications * Set up and configuration of Windows and web:based systems * Site commissioning and testing including writing factory and site acceptance test documents The Company Our client is a specialist in safety, control and monitoring systems for large infrastructure projects including airports, road tunnels and industrial complexes (clients include Dartford River Crossing and Heathrow Airport). The Company designs, integrates and delivers control systems based mainly on Siemens SCADA and PLC products as well as their own proprietary SCADA system. The Person The successful candidate will have: a degree or HND in a software development based course, including object oriented programming languages; some control systems engineering is preferred; excellent verbal and written communication skills; a genuine desire to take on a client facing delivery role; flexibility : able to work outside normal hours during on site commissioning and testing of systems.
