Advert ORKNEY HEALTH AND CARE Relief Mobile Community Responder Hours are offered on an as and when required basis £10.10 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance) A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate The Responder Service provides a speedy response following falls or other emergencies in the home, ensuring that individuals can remain safely and independently in their own homes and enjoy quality of life. The work will be both challenging and varied, and under guidance from the Responder Co-ordinator you will enable individuals to achieve as much independence as possible, through the provision of assistive technology, and the ongoing 24 hour emergency support of the team. You should have work experience in the social care field or similar. You will need the sort of personality that enjoys interacting with people and making a difference to their lives. If you are motivated, caring, honest, can remain calm in a crisis and have a sense of fun, then this could be the job for you and we are waiting to hear from you. You should hold an SVQ 2 Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 6 or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC as a Worker in a Care at Home Service OR achieve this within 5 years of appointment. You are required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of appointment. The work could be anywhere on the Orkney mainland, so a driving licence is a requirement for the post.
