Project Management Team Lead. £51k - £59k - London based - Perm position. Job Purpose. *To lead a team of professional project managers to manage and ensure the successful delivery of projects, many of which will be high profile and complex. *Mentor and support direct reports and other staff managing projects. *To personally act as a senior project manager when necessary to ensure the successful delivery of the portfolio, providing professional project management in the day-to-day running of multiple projects through the entire project lifecycle to deliver to the needs of the organisation, within set budget, timescales and quality. Key responsibilities and objectives of the job. *Lead and motivate a team of project managers to ensure successful IT project delivery. *Input to organisational strategy governing the direction and conduct of project management, including application of appropriate methodologies. *Lead project planning, scheduling, controlling and reporting activities for strategic, high impact, high risk projects. *Manage risk and ensures that solutions to problems are implemented in line with change control processes. *Monitor and control resources, revenue and capital costs against the project budget. *Manage expectations of all project stakeholders and suppliers to ensure effective planning, delivery and communications. *Lead and prepare detailed planning and budgetary reports for a range of audiences, to assist in the approval and management of projects as well as briefings and other related project governance communications. *Project manage the full life cycle of IT procurement activities up to and including OJEU. This involves tender development, evaluation, shortlisting, supplier selection and contract negotiation. *Assess readiness for change and put in place an appropriate plan for each area of the business to successfully deliver the planned change. *Ensure that all projects are managed within budget, to time and to high standards. *Manage the governance of projects, including identification of key project roles, setting up project boards, communicating programme essentials to senior management and project executives. Requirements. Essential. *Education to degree standard and/or equivalent qualifications/experience. *Project Management Qualification. *In-depth expertise in a variety of ICT environments. *Excellent project management skills and knowledge of formal project management methodologies. *Excellent leadership skills and the ability to influence motivate and inspire others. *High level of management skills, with a particular emphasis on interpersonal and negotiating skills. *Knowledge of IT service management, including change and incident management. Desirable. Demonstrable experience of leading teams of Project Managers to deliver multiple projects in loosely federated stakeholder environments. A sound commercial understanding of:. *Main Contractor environments. *Contracts Management. *Construction and fit-outs. A good or better technical appreciation of:. *AV systems. *Networking. *Structured Cabling. *Unified Communications (including telephony). *End User Computing.
