Job abstractJV_description The Vacancy Project Analyst - Upstream Location: Berkshire, UK Salary/Rate: Dependent on Experience and Qualifications but in the range of £32K - £40K Type: Permanent IPA currently have immediate requirements for an Oil and Gas Project Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis in their Reading office. They are seeking a candidate that has a proven track record working on capital projects or analysing project feasibility in the upstream oil and gas market. The successful candidate will be required to carry out project analysis using quantitative and statistical data. While the position is based in the UK, the role requires frequent travel to locations throughout Europe, Africa, Russia and the Middle East. Typical assignments for analysts are from 3-6 weeks long and includes collecting data from project teams, quantitative analysis of that data, preparing a report to the client and then presenting recommendations to the client. IPA reports are an important part of our clients’ decision making processes and so are time sensitive. As a result analysts work often to tight deadlines and under pressure and so the successful candidate will thrives in this environment. IPA is a professional environment and candidates must be self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative. There is likely to be up to 30% of your time spent travelling overseas on trips of usually 2-3 days, . Therefore both a willingness and ability to travel to and work in a variety of countries (with visas if required) is a mandatory prerequisite. It is essential that candidates can demonstrate good listening and communication skills as there will be a requirement to provide feedback on the analysis carried out which may involve challenging the planned business case and subsequently will require individuals with the strength of character and experience in the delivery of recommendations for change. Experience working within a consultancy environment would be a plus. Requirements: - Masters Degree (or higher) or equivalent in engineering, science (geology, physics, chemistry, biology), statistics, operations research, economics or allied fields - Proven track record of cross functional experience and leadership - Quantitative analytical skills, including experience using a variety of statistical methods to analyse large amounts of data - Excellent interpersonal skills - Possess intellectual curiosity with experience conducting independent research - Possess and be able to demonstrate superior English written and oral communication skills - Technical experience working in the oil & gas industries.
