Job description:
NPD Manager sought by £25m turnover food business, a manufacturer of own label and branded products for the leading multiples and foodservice companies in the UK and overseas. The NPD Manager will be responsible for the development process from concept through to launch and will perform the following key tasks:. - produce new and innovative products for customers. - respond to specific customer briefs and initiate new product ideas. - research consumer markets and remain abreast of latest technologies. - research and source new ingredients. - communicate with suppliers on sample requests, specifications, costs, etc. - ensure that ingredients and nutritional requirements conform to current legislation and regulatory requirements. - oversee all quality and food safety issues relating to new products. - develop documentation process for formulations. - develop packaging designs in liaison with artworkers packaging suppliers. - value engineering. - prepare and issue customer samples to various members of Sales / Business Development team. - handover to manufacture for full scale production of new products. - work effectively within strict cost / time parameters. The NPD Manager will hold a Degree or equivalent in a food related qualification and have a proven record in new product development of food or beverage products, branded and own label. Naturally enthusiastic and with a flair for innovation, you must be commercially astute and an avid follower of market trends. Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail essential. Willing and able to travel within the UK and overseas, you must be an excellent communicator with first rate presentation and influencing skills.
