Job title: New Business Development Manager (Waste Industry)

Baltic Recruitment are excited to work on behalf of a waste management company based in County Durham. Actively seeking a New Business Development Manager to join their team. Must be: * Capable of planning and managing own workload - working independently * Good knowledge and understanding of hazardous waste and contracts * Ability to identify business opportunities and develop/ lead on own initiative * Must be approachable and be able to communicate with customers at all levels * Trustworthy and capable of managing expenses * Able to work away from home on occasion A minimum of 2 years' experience in waste management, Industrial services or a closely related sector. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director the successful candidate will be: * Working independently to win new business and clients in their targeted territory and geographic area. * Keeping up to date with market conditions, competitor activity and market intelligence. * Developing strong business relationships and maintaining a broad customer database. * Proactively searching for new areas of business and selling the services and generating new business within a designated territory. * Being the key interface between the company and target customers / clients as well as seeking potential sales prospects. * Plan, organise and manage business development and sales leads * Formulate, develop and implement an agreed sales strategy in accordance with the Commercial Director. * Maintain and develop existing and new customers sales base and relationships through appropriate propositions and sales method * Manage pricing and margins according to agreed strategies, budgets and aims. * Work alongside all other staff to optimise quality of service, business growth, and customer retention * Respond to and follow up on all telephone, email and electronic sales enquiries using appropriate methods * Undertake market research , monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information * Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships * Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development * Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills * Adhere to the Company health and safety policy at all times and those of customers at all times and develop good SHE practices. * Identify and develop relationships with suppliers and other waste companies to ensure cost effective and legal, onward recovery and disposal routes. * Account management of key customers * Work to ensure/produce and maintain working sales pipeline, focusing on customer with waste budgets in excess £100k per annum * Any other reasonable duties given by a Director.
