Our community support services are designed to enable people affected by severe mental illness to achieve their full potential and recover a better quality of life. We provide recovery-based support, within the areas of education, social and life skills. Our aim is to provide educational, vocational and social support with the emphasis on improving the lives of everyone affected by severe mental illness. The various activities running at the services or in the wider community exist with the objective of helping people to take more control of their own lives by building confidence, strengthening skills and helping with access to resources in the local community. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a mental health recovery worker to join our community service in Harrow. You will help service users to achieve their goals by facilitating group work and delivering new activities. You will have a good understanding of mental illness gained through either work, volunteering or personal experience. Good communication skills are essential for this role, as are sound organisational and IT skills. Some experience of the mental health sector would be beneficial but not essential.
