The Role We are now seeking an experienced Legal Secretary and Personal Assistant to work within the family department, in this busy law firm, to provide an excellent level of assistance and support to the Head of Department for whom you will work. We are looking for a professional who cares about charity and has a positive attitude towards disadvantaged groups of the community. Main Responsibilities Prepare correspondence and documents for fee earners via audio typing and word processing, with a minimum of 60 wpm typing speed Arrange appointments, meetings, conferences and maintain paper and electronic diaries. Support other colleagues and provide guidance to new team members when required Provide support for fee earners in other areas when required. Daily administration, filing, opening, closing, storage and retrieval of files. Carry all office duties, including photocopying, scanning, faxing, printing, mailing. Keep stationery accurate and complete at all times Assist clients over the phone and face to face. Requirements One year prior experience in this role is essential If you have not undertaken the role previously you will not be considered due to the demands of the position. Up to date knowledge of legal aid pertaining to family law Ensure confidentiality of all firms and clients documentation and information at all times. Undertake training when required Desirable use Legal Aid Agency CCMS system Key Skills Professional and friendly with excellent customer service Highly organised Able to work on your own initiative and follow instructions.. Take pride in the quality of your work Have an excellent telephone manner.
