The Department of Science, Natural Resources and Outdoor Studies is seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Zoology to assist in the delivery of a new BSc Zoology programme that commenced in September 2015. The post holder will join a successful, experienced and ambitious teaching team with a reputation for innovation in course design and delivery. The team currently delivers Bachelor of Science programmes in Animal Conservation Science, Conservation Biology, Biology and Marine and Freshwater Conservation, alongside Zoology. The post holder will be required to contribute to the academic team through delivery of zoology modules initially to first and second-year zoology students with potential contribution across the wider programme areas. The post holder will be expected to actively engage with professional and pedagogical research and scholarship to support teaching activities and extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to teaching and research. As well as the requisite academic and technical skills to deliver zoology, the post holder will be required to evidence their ability to work as part of a team; skills in project and time management and a passion for teaching and learning with a proven track record of working with animals and ideally experience in practical conservation.
