LabVIEW Coding and Data Processing Engineer Our client is a young, growing company of 15 people with a friendly yet vibrant atmosphere based in Sheffield. They currently design, manufacture, supply and install high end ultrasonic platforms and low-cost monitoring systems across many industrial sectors. Their customers range from small engineering companies to large multinationals in various sectors, including Oil & Gas, Nuclear Power, Renewables, Rail, Aerospace and Formula 1. In many areas where they work, they are the only company worldwide providing such services. Job Summary The successful applicant will be someone with an engineering mindset (and a degree in Engineering or Physics) who is interested in developing software for engineering applications. As NI Alliance Partners our client. utilise NI LabVIEW and a range of NI hardware. The role is primarily to write, test and support software written in the NI LabVIEW environment. Software is used for both to control data acquisition equipment and for data processing. The role is also to take a lead in managing the software produced by our client ensuring the appropriate systems are in place, and followed, to maintain and support the software. The role includes some data processing using the LabVIEW code that has been written. This requires and understanding of general signal processing techniques. The role requires an engineering approach to problem solving in addition to software programming skills. Key Tasks Write code to interface with internal and external hardware for data acquisition Maintenance of code Customer Support of implemented code and hardware Software Documentation Test software for automated test of products Procurement of Data Acquisition Hardware Testing and validation of code, occasionally onsite with customer Processing of test data using LabVIEW code Report on results of data processing Define project timelines and resource requirements Assist with project deliverables Manage suppliers to ensure ordered parts are delivered on schedule, to cost and to specification Manage the communication of data to 3rd party contractors to ensure they are able to complete their contract Provide regular update on progress to line manager Adherence to internal business, quality management and H&S systems. Assist with other tasks as requested, including being responsible for the laboratory or office on a rota basis Requirements A degree, or equivalent qualification/experience, in Engineering or Physics or related Proven experience with LabVIEW (CLD preferable) or other transferable software knowledge Experience with data handling and processing Good analytical skills Self-motivating, ability to implement and maintain systems without direction Good organisational and time management skills Length of position: Permanent Working week: 37.5 hours Holidays : 24 days a year plus bank holidays Possible start date: As soon as possible Salary: 22-30,000 depending on experience and qualifications?
