Salary: £45,760 Grade: F Contract Type: Open-Ended Hours: Full Time Closing Date: 26th April 2019 About the role The primary focus of the role is to support the company strategic vision and lead/guide a team of IT security professionals in the maintenance of the confidentiality, integrity, availability and accountability of company and client information and information systems, ensuring the smooth running of security mechanisms and processes in daily business activities. You will work with a variety of stakeholders at operational, tactical and strategic levels. National Security Vetting (SC) is required. While primarily based in Swindon, some UK and international travel may be required. Key Responsibilities • line manage a team of IT security Officers • lead protective monitoring, forensic vulnerability scanning and malware analysis, capturing information and developing/implementing toolsets to produce metrics, reports, dashboards and alerting • inform and implement the UK SBS IT Security Management System • ensure regular reviews of information risks through assessments of physical, personnel, procedural and technical controls • recommend business change and configurations to ensure that the appropriate and proportionate controls are in place and that all risks are understood and managed within the business risk appetite • lead the IT Security element of the Cyber Response Team as part of Business Continuity Measures • ensure compliance with the UK SBS commitments to stakeholders, partners, suppliers and clients • define and maintain all necessary records and audit trails contributing to compliance • undertake all appropriate and reasonable tasks as directed by senior management. Shortlisting & Interview Criteria Essential: Education: • at least one qualification in Information Security from the following list: o Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) o Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) o Member of the Institute of Information Security Professionals (MInst.ISP) o practitioner under the Infosec Training Paths & Competencies (ITPC) scheme. Knowledge: • familiarity with ISO27001 standard and methods • familiarity with HMG Security Policy Framework (SPF) • knowledge of Information Assurance methodologies • in-depth knowledge of the IT security risks when working with the internet, intranets/extranets and cloud services • in-depth knowledge of ICT infrastructures, OS platforms, hardware, databases and networks • familiarity with Security products • familiarity with Identity Management and authentication principles • familiar with the provisions of applicable legislation (including the Data Protection Act). Skills: • administrator skills and abilities to build, manage and investigate for Windows, and Linux systems (desktop and Servers) • administrator skills and abilities to manage or investigate either iOS or android devices (preferably iOS) • ability to understand web technologies • ability to understand networking principles and the technologies and be able to apply the knowledge • the skill and ability to use security tools like Wireshark or TCP Dump to investigate incidents or events. Experience: • at least 5 years’ experience in the role of a Senior IT Security Officer in an enterprise environment • implementing Information Security Policies, frameworks and governance structures for IT Services • implementing Risk Management principles and frameworks to protect business systems and services • investigative experience and the control of evidence for legal or disciplinary action • experience as a Security Analyst. Desirable: Education: One of the following qualifications (or equivalent): • member of the British Computer Society (MBCS) as a chartered Professional (SFIA plus level 5/6) • member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (MIIA) • qualification in Computer Auditing (QICA) • certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Knowledge: • wide familiarity with applicable HMG guidance and good practice. Skills and Abilities: • foundation in Prince 2 project at practitioner level • foundation in ITIL 3 at practitioner level • administrator skills for Microsoft Office 365 • administrator skills and abilities for Apple OS • in Depth understanding of network OS, devices and protocols • in Depth understanding of Cryptographic protocols and algorithms. Experience: • experience of working in a central government department for at least 5 years • experience of working with information covered under the UK Government Classification Scheme.
