MUST have Hotel Marketing experience. JOB PURPOSE: To create and develop the master-brand and sub-brand categories and to plan and implement all marketing activities in accordance with the agreed sales and marketing plan. ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1.To plan, develop and implement strategies and initiatives for the Marketing Dept in order to meet the agreed business and marketing objectives, within the agreed budgets and timescales. 2.To establish and maintain appropriate systems for evaluating marketing activity and giving feedback to relevant areas of the business as agreed. 3.To ensure the athenaeum product and brand is developed. 4.To develop ideas and innovation for new product development and future brand development. To ensure all cross-selling opportunities are exploited and ROI statistics made available. 5.To develop a Customer Relationship Management programme. 6.To establish links with appropriate partners and develop to mutual advantage. 7.To co-ordinate all PR relationships on behalf of the Hotel. 8.To maintain awareness of all potential competitors, conduct market research and seek feedback on the athenaeum brand. 9.To create and develop a customer segmentation programme. 10.To be an honest and participative member of the management team; undertake duty management role and attend other department communication meetings. 11.To be an ambassador of the hotel both on and off duty. 12.To operate within a safe environment in line with hotel H&S policy. 13.To operate within the confidentiality policy of the organisation. 14.To promote cross-property marketing amongst sister properties. 15.To manage the hotel marketing budget to ensure cost efficiency, return on investment and no unauthorised excess. 16.Understand and adhere to Data Protection legislation and guidelines. Adhere to relevant legal requirements. PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential: •Previous hotel marketing experience. •Development of strategy and planning at a property and function level within marketing areas. Ability to think and plan ahead •Self-motivated, entrepreneurial and able to think and act under own initiative •Comfortable with multi-tasking; able to deliver under pressure and to achieve successive deadlines. •Written communication, including proven ability to develop clear, succinct and persuasive written marketing communications. •Campaign management; able to develop and manage marketing campaigns to drive profitable revenue. •Value proposition development; able to develop new value propositions (eg new products) with clear customer benefit and market potential. •Creativity, including the ability to originate creative marketing campaigns or propositions. •Capable of selling ideas and concepts to others. •Budget management, able to manage an annual budget and deliver value for money. •Data analysis, including intermediate Excel and Access (or equivalent) literacy; able to identify meaningful trends and insights into complex data •Extensive PC skills, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Photoshop and Project (or equivalent); able to make the most of availability PC technology to develop customer and market insight •Interpersonal skills, including influence, relationships and leadership. Ability to work across departmental boundaries and contribute to team initiatives. Able to embrace, promote and drive change, to keep pace with rapidly changing markets. •Familiarity with the hotel or travel trade, including basic (Certificate in Marketing) Desirable: •Structured, reasoned thinking •Ability to think holistically and anticipate customer requirements from all angles •Marketing experience, covering brand management, product development, communications management, pricing management and distribution / channel management. •Service industry experience, such as hotel, financial services, airline, retail. •Broad general and market knowledge, including knowledge of the fundamentals of politics, geography, technology and economics.
