Job Profile. We have an opening for frontend web developers with knowledge of JavaScript, Angular JS, HTML and CSS. As a developer you will play a leading role in creating cutting-edge user interfaces for clients including government agencies, public sector bodies, and leading financial institutions. Our clients include Sony PlayStation, Virgin Media, EE, Vodafone, Three, British Gas, Transport for London and many more. Our front-end developers are responsible for delivering cutting-edge, optimised, web desktop and mobile experiences that look and perform superbly across all platforms. This position will involve using the latest front-end web technologies (HTML5/CSS3) to explore and design solutions as well as develop code alongside a team of developers (both front and back-end, with different platform specialties). This role works closely with both external clients and internal, cross-functional teams on projects that range from a couple of weeks to several months in length. We don’t believe you’ll be ‘just a developer’ and all our staff are expected to use their expertise, experience, insight and desire to collaborate with team mates and clearly communicate technical information, functionality, and limitations to non-technical audiences. MANDATORY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE. • Strong commercial experience in web frontend development. • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. • Knowledge of frameworks such as Angular JS or REACT, and HTML5, CSS3. • An understanding of user-experience concepts and visual design concepts such as grids. • Experience in responsive web design. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES. • Investigating new web technologies. • Conducting reviews of supplied requirements and specifications. • Providing accurate estimates of development effort required. • Reviewing design and code outputs from colleagues. • Developing and designing processes for repeatable tasks. • Shared accountability for engineering best practice within the team. • Providing technical expertise to support project delivery and junior colleagues. • Communicating with other team members, internal staff, and external clients. • Building relationships with stakeholders. Experience in any of the following areas would also be advantageous:. • JavaScript libraries (e.g. JQuery, Lodash). • NodeJS. • CSS (e.g. Bootstrap, Foundation, LESS, SASS ). • Build task runners (e.g. gulp, grunt). • Browser compatibility. • Agile development patterns.
