We have a fantastic opportunity for a versatile Electronics Design Engineer with solid all round electronics skills (analogue, digital & ideally embedded software) to join a Space Research & Satellite technology company at their brand new UK R&D operation, which is based near Oxford. You will have previous experience of the space sector this could be either through working in industry or a sponsored academic PhD or Masters. You will join a small, but growing UK team responsible for the design of ultra high technology electronics instrumentation for space research. This is cutting edge kit that will go into orbit in the International Space Station! The company has recorded over 60 missions in space and over 90 significant scientific experiments run during the last decade. They already employ 60 high qualified engineers, physicists, biologists and other scientists across two counties and are looking to grow the new UK operation significantly. The company is looking to invest in the area of low cost satellites, robotics instruments and fall down applications for medicine and biology (eg space-based incubators, bioreactors and analysers). Skills required (Electronics Design Engineer) BSc, BEng, MEng, MSc, MPhys or maybe a PhD degree in Electronics Engineering, Applied Physics or similar Engineering or Scientific subject. Experience in space research, aerospace, satellites or scientific instrumentation Good all round Electronics Hardware Design knowledge, including Digital, Analogue (eg for signal conditioning) sensor interfacing, psus etc and ideally some embedded software. Ability and confidence to design complete, high quality, high value, one-off electronics systems from a set of requirements.
