Data Administrator (Strong Excel Skills) For over 150 years, Land Registry has protected and guaranteed people's land and property rights by keeping and maintaining the Land Register for England and Wales. Today that register covers 86% of the land mass of England and Wales, contains more than 24 million titles (the evidence of ownership), holds an estimated £4 trillion of property value and is one of the largest property databases in Europe. The information it holds is essential to the property market, which itself is worth hundreds of billions of pounds per year – underpinning one of the strongest economies in the world. Land Registry has trading fund status and receives no direct government funding. In 2014/15, Land Registry collected nearly £300m in statutory fees and other income – over £1m on average every working day. Position: Management Information Section Administrator Location: Croydon, London Job type: Full or Part-Time Salary: £26,028 - £27,219 per annum The closing date for applications is: midnight on 17 January 2016. About the Role: The Data Administrator role is part of a small team responsible for the production of Land Registry's workload and resource management information data, as well as dealing with other related queries. You will contribute to improvements in quality and processes around the collection of data. Within the role you will review and quality assure workload analysis reports written in the relevant reporting tool [Micro Strategy] for accuracy and relevance, and write reports to meet business requirements. You will also prepare regular summary reports, using resource and workload information, for distribution to the business. In addition you will create user instructions for use within the immediate team and wider organisation, respond to ad hoc requests for information, and be able to understand the data well enough to be able to respond to these requests quickly and accurately. You will also contribute to providing workload figures for the Annual Report and Accounts as well as monthly and quarterly financial reports. About You: To be successful in this role, you will be confident working with figures with a good understanding and experience of working with MS Excel effectively to collate, manage and present data. It is therefore essential that you have intermediate / advanced Excel skills. You will also have experience of data handling and presentation, working well with figures; for example, carrying out calculations/reconciliations, and the interpretation of data and recognize inconsistences and errors. In addition you will be able to manage data capture to ensure its accuracy, recognising inconsistencies, errors and the limitations of use. Possessing clear written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate confidently at all levels across the organisation, you will have experience of meeting deadlines, dealing confidently with queries and conflicts, resolving them promptly. Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders and working proactively with them, offering constructive challenge and workable solutions to resolve inconsistencies and improve data accuracy is also vital to the role.
