Consultant in Haematology 10 PAs weekly Introduction Hinchingbrooke NHS Trust is committed to the delivery of high quality haematology services and presents excellent opportunities for developing haematology in partnership with our colleagues at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals Foundation Trust PSHFT. This is a permanent post covering all aspects of in and out-patient haematology care along with bone marrow procedures, advice and on-call services. You will be joining a welcoming and friendly team of dedicated staff who deliver high quality care across the Trust and community, providing an outstanding patient experience. This in turn enables Hinchingbrooke to consistently perform to a very high standard and deliver against national targets for waiting times. The new Macmillan Woodlands Centre is planned to open towards the end of this year providing leading treatment and care facilities for our patients and staff with new consulting rooms and appropriate technology to enhance our services. This is a particularly exciting time for the Trust to shape the haematology service for the people of Huntingdonshire and this post is pivotal in driving this forward. Clinical Haematology The scope of haematology services at Hinchingbrooke covers general haematology, anti-coagulation and BCSH level 2A haematology cancer services. Patients requiring intensive chemotherapy treatment are referred to PSHFT.The two services work closely to maximize the benefits of a wider knowledge base for our patients. The post This is a full-time substantive position to lead the haematology service. The Trust is also currently recruiting a staff grade Specialty Doctor for the haematology and oncology services to work in conjunction with the Consultants. The postholder will work in collaboration with the team at PSHFT to share experience and develop knowledge. Your core skills should cover inpatient care and outpatients clinics.
