Job Title: Cleaner Accountable to: The home manager and delegated senior staff. Overall responsibilities: To provide housekeeping and cleaning services to the home. Main duties: Ensure that all areas of the home are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness Ensure all communal floor surfaces are swept or vacuumed daily and all hard floor surfaces washed and disinfected daily. Ensure that all windows, paintwork, furniture, fixtures and fittings are cleaned to a high standard on a regular basis Clean and service en suite and communal bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets on a daily basis. ensure that paper goods are replaced daily. Carry out deep cleans on residents rooms on a rota system. Carry out emergency carpet cleaning when necessary. empty waste paper and litter bins and remove all refuse from allocated areas. Report as necessarily any defect or dangerous fixtures and fittings. Comply with all health and safety regulations and ensure that all cleaning materials are stored in accordance with all COSHH instructions. Maintain good and empathetic contact with residents and notify any signs of need or potential problem to the manager and relevant care staff. Maintain polite and good communication with your colleagues, residents and visitors to the home at all times. The post holder may also be required to assist in kitchen or laundry duties on occasions to cover annual leave or sickness.
