Derbyshire WISH Domestic Abuse Support Services are currently seeking an enthusiastic, positive thinking and experienced Children's Worker to join their expanding team. This role will be based in our Amber Valley Project and involve supporting children and young people living with the impact of domestic abuse. The role will involve provision of support both within a refuge / supported accommodation setting and to those living in the local community, in the Amber Valley area. The successful applicant will: Use their skills and experience to support children and young people who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse; Be able to confidently deliver support to children and young people on both a one to one basis and within a group work setting, using a range of support methods to meet the individual needs of children and young people; Have an excellent understanding of safeguarding procedures; Be able to work equally well on their own initiative and as part of a team; Be able to confidently work in a multi-agency environment, working alongside other agencies to achieve best possible outcomes for children and young people; Have good communication skills and be able to demonstrate confidence in communicating both verbally and in writing to a wide range of people; Be able to confidently use IT; Have a full driving licence and un-restricted access to a vehicle as the suitable candidate will be required to travel throughout Amber Valley area Working hours are 25 hours per week on a rota basis to meet service needs. Rota will include evening, weekends and bank holidays.
