Sister/Charge Nurse – Chemotherapy Day Unit Permanent, full time £37,562 - £49,537 Pulse is working alongside a specialist cancer outpatient clinic based in London famous medical district to recruit a Sister/Charge Nurse to join their team. The clinic has 20 treatment chairs within the suite. We strive to provide patients with the highest standard of cancer care possible using the latest technology. The actual salary for this position will be up to a maximum of £37,562 - £49,537 (dependant on candidate experience). Job Description Working to provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers, without supervision, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will deputise for their line manager. This may involve dealing with complex situations and having to take appropriate action in a variety of settings. Duties and Responsibilities * Undertake the first level assessment of the needs of the patient and family * To develop and maintain clinical competency in cannulation, care of CVADs and drug administration techniques * Liaise and work closely with relevant Clinical Nurse Specialists / Clinic Doctor / Clinical Team / Consultants / Primary Care Teams in the provision of a professional critical care / cancer nursing service, and use skills identified for the post to provide a specialist input to the care that is planned for and delivered to individual patients. * Recognise and respond to patients’ changing condition, using knowledge, skills and experience to direct, support and manage both staff and the situation * Assist the Senior Sister/ Charge nurse in providing support to staff during and after emergency situations, including debriefs and clinical supervision as necessary Skills & Experience * NMC Registered Nurse * Post registration qualification in Cancer/ Chemotherapy Nursing * Recognised teaching, assessing, mentoring qualification * Minimum of 3 years contemporaneous experience within Cancer specialty with significant experience in the outpatient treatment setting * Communicating with distressed/anxious/ worried patients and carers in acute and palliative setting * Communicating complex issues with patients/ carers and MDT To discuss this post further or to apply please complete the form below and one of our dedicated Consultants will be in touch as soon as possible.
