Highly valued and popular with residents, families and staff, our chefs are key personalities within our homes.As a 2nd Chef with Barchester you will support, and deputise for the Head Chef in ensuring that all food not only looks and tastes delicious but also reflects each individual’s preferences and dietary requirements. You will assist in designing the menus, managing all aspects of the kitchen, budgeting, and leading the catering team.You’ll have the opportunity to advance your career with the Barchester Chef Academy which offers continuous training and development. There is also an opportunity to showcase your talent in the annual Barchester Hospitality Awards which are fiercely contested.You will need to have previous experience within a similar role. A Basic Food Hygiene certificate is required and a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706 1/2 or equivalent is preferred.Please note, we may sometimes need to close or extend the closing dates for positions depending on application numbers.
