JOB DUTIES : Prepare and cook nutritious, interesting, fresh food and bakery items. Culinary talent, to service ad hoc functions and events. Flexible approach to work. Managing the day to day function of a large scale kitchen. Management of staff, experience in training and developing staff. Marketing and advertisement of new promotions and products with a drive for quality and sales. Comply with company food safety policies and legislation. Comply with government nutritional guidelines and provide a healthy eating school programme. Essential Criteria: City and Guilds 706 Level 1 & 2 or NVQ Level 3. L3 CIEH intermediate food hygiene or working towards this. Flexible and adaptable approach to new trends and changing routines. Previous, similar position held (i.e. Level 2 supervisory management) Desirable Criteria: Hold a Level 2 qualification in supervisory management. GCSE Maths and English to grade C or higher - or numeracy/literacy equivalent. Proficient in use of MS Office Word and Excel. Excellent bulk ordering abilities. Strong background in baking. Experience within this sector (catering at a college/school). Effective communicator with a flexible approach.
