At Core Prospects we offer support accommodation and activity services for adults with learning disability, autism and high support needs. We are recruiting for a number of Support Workers for our service in South Harrow. Your support will contribute to maximising the independent living skills of our service users getting involved in cooking, cleaning, shopping and leisure activities throughout the day as well as personal care. As a Support Worker, you will support people with mental health problems in a supported accommodation setting. You’ll provide them with the emotional and practical assistance they need, enabling them to live independently in the community. Skills & Experience • Experience of working with people with mental health issues and challenging behaviour (essential) • Customer service experience (essential) • Experience of working in a care environment, especially mental health (essential) • Ability to communicate on the telephone (desirable) • Good interpersonal skills (essential) • Able to return information and carry out instructions accurately (essential) • Able to maintain confidentiality (essential) • Able to accurately record basic physical observations (essential) • Able to prioritise workload (essential) • Excellent verbal and written skills (essential) • Able to use own initiative (essential) • Basic understanding of using IT systems (MS Office, Web Based System) (desirable) Qualifications • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or equivalent in Health & Social Care (desirable) • Willing to work towards NVQ Level 3 (desirable) Shifts will cover early, late and sleep-in shifts including weekends and bank holidays. An enhanced DBS will be required if successful. Pay, up to £9 PH based on skills and experience
