Care Assistant We are the staffing team for a well know care provider in the UK. We offer residential, nursing and dementia care for older people at our high quality care homes across the UK. Care Assistant role Its not just our residents health needs youll help meet. Youll also help them to get more out of life - to be more independent, to enjoy a wider range of activities, and, above all, to have more choice in their day to day life. Working closely with your Team Leader and our nurses, youll lend a hand with everything from helping someone get ready for an eagerly anticipated family visit, to supporting someone whos trying to build up their mobility. Whether youre assisting a nurse, getting involved with a daily activity, filling in vital paperwork or lending someone a hand to eat their lunch, youll make all the residents you care for feel safe, comfortable and secure. In other words, youll make them feel right at home. The skills youll need To join us, you wont necessarily need to have experience working with older people in residential care (although this would be ideal). You will need to be flexible, patient, caring, organised and great with people. In fact, youll build strong relationships with all those around you, making sure family and friends feel welcomed, that health care professionals are kept well-informed, and that youre keeping your Line Manager up to speed with residents needs and progress. A team player, you can follow guidelines and policies easily, and will have good written skills, as you will need to write up care plans. If you dont have it already, youll need to be willing to work towards your QCF 1-5 (NVQ 2 or 3 in Care). Youll also need to be flexible to work shifts on a rota basis.
